Cover the costs of programs and events
Our Fellows are first-generation, college-bound students from low-income backgrounds with scarce resources for postsecondary education attainment and equitable outdoor recreation access. Accepted Fellows receive free programming and are not required to pay any costs associated with the program or its events.
Fellows succeed academically and individually
We want our students to succeed in high school and beyond. We provide College Tours, College & Financial Aid Application workshops, and resources for Fellows to make well-informed decisions academically and personally. We support students as they empower themselves to succeed.
Advance equitable access to outdoor recreation
We provide camping, rock climbing, and backpacking trips free of charge so that Fellows can enjoy the outdoors. We also take them on a bigger trip (internationally and domestically) at the end of their journey with REACH, where they enjoy nature, immerse themselves in a different culture, and give back to the community. Lastly, we support students by loaning them costly gear that may be difficult to buy out-of-pocket so they can explore nature outside the program.
Fellows are going through a lot academically, mentally, and emotionally. We provide students with time, mentorship, and resources to help them in their transitions and challenging times.
Create opportunities and memories
We take Fellows to places they have never been or even dreamed about visiting. They share new and difficult times with other Fellows, creating long-lasting relationships and memories.
