Fall Family Camp

September 2-4, 2023

WE ARE BACK! We are excited to bring back another family camp adventure for the first time in several years. This is your chance to experience some of the magic your child gets at Wilderness Youth Project as a whole family.



  • 2 nights over Labor Day Weekend
  • Arrival: 10:30 am on Saturday, September 2 (first circle at 11:30; lunch at 12)
  • Departure: 9:00 am on Monday, September 4


  • Join us at the Dos Pueblos Ranch along the Gaviota Coast
  • All families will camp together at one large simple group campsite
  • You will be able to drive in to drop off your gear and then park at another location on the property
  • A standard portable restroom will be on-site
  • Carpools are encouraged and transportation is available on request


  • The weekend will be full of nature walks, crafts, activities, beach adventures, and storytelling for the whole family. 
  • Staff trained in ocean safety rescue will be on-site during designated ocean swim times.


  • Adults: $75 each / Children: $50 each / Under 2: Free
  • Participants under 18 year old must come with an adult.
  • Scholarships are available and automatically applied during the online application process. Deeper scholarships are available upon request.


  • Meals are included in your ticket price and provided by WYP:
    • Saturday Lunch + Dinner
    • Sunday Breakfast + Dinner
    • Monday Continental Breakfast
  • You are responsible for:
    • Sunday Lunch
    • Snacks (bring extra breakfast snacks if your little ones get hungry before our 8 am breakfasts)

We will offer vegan and gluten-free options so be sure to include your dietary needs and preferences during registration or reach out to us directly.


  • Sleeping gear and shelter (warm bag, ground pad, tent, etc.)
  • Chairs for campfire area and meal areas
  • Extra blanket (or two)
  • Cold weather clothing (for beach evenings/possible wind)
  • Warm weather clothing
  • Sun hat and warm hat
  • Flashlight/Headlamp
  • Swimsuit, towel, rashguard 
  • Toiletry items including sunscreen (biodegradable items only please)
  • Bowl, plate, utensils, cup for each family member
  • Necessary medications
  • Knife for carving sticks etc…
  • Musical instruments
  • Stories
  • Small daypack/packpack for exploring
  • Beach fun (boogie boards, snorkles, sand toys, games)
  • Lunch for Sunday and snacks
  • Optional to share: shade pop-ups, tables and chairs for meals
  • Intention of camp is to unplug for the weekend, spend time in nature, and meet new people. Please leave electronics at home.

How to apply for the family camp lottery

  1. Log in to your WYP registration account
  2. Make sure all family members are listed in your account (children under age 2 do not need a registration/ticket)
    • Click on Households & Contact to view all family members
    • To add new members click on Add Participant and fill out the information

3. Go to Register to view all available sessions WYP offers

4. Use the Show Programs dropbox to select individual family members

5. Scroll down until you see Family Camp - Community Events

6. Click on Choose your Sessions and select the ticket.

    • If you have more family members to add click on Choose Another Program to sign up for individual tickets for all family members who will be attending


7. Verify that you have the correct number of tickets in your cart and click Continue

8. Review the family members on the following page Review & Apply

9. Read and sign the appropriate waivers and then click on Apply

10. You will receive an email by August 18 to confirm if your family has received a spot.
