Four schools across the state that specialize in long term mentoring of teens in nature will come together. These schools are: Wilderness Youth Project (Santa Barbara), Outside Now! (San Luis Obispo), 4 Elements Earth Education (GrassValley), and Riekes Nature Awareness (Menlo Park).
This is an opportunity for very talented staff to gather to lead the students to new levels of nature connection through what is sure to be an amazingly creative process. It is also a chance for students who have been on the journey of long-term nature connection to come together to share skills, stories, and to develop new connections with each other.
Since space will be somewhat limited, this is an “invite only” event, with each school bringing their own students. This means that registrants will first be automatically put on a waitlist. We will notify families as we approve participants. Four Fires is not a program for first time participants of Wilderness Youth Project.
The staff that will be leading this trip include: Lincoln Rideout, Mark Tollefson and Maya Shoemaker from Wilderness Youth Project, Ryan Wensloff from Outside Now!, Rick Berry from 4 Elements Earth Education, and Ken Clarkson from Riekes Nature Awareness.
If you have any specific questions please feel free to contact Lincoln Rideout.
