Woolly Bears and Chickadees are outdoor preschool age programs in Goleta and Santa Barbara. Children connect with nature through play, curiosity and awareness. Developmentally appropriate routines include gratitude circles, games, and songs— all mirroring the patterns of surrounding nature.
By experiencing seasonal transitions outdoors, children have the opportunity to cultivate a heightened awareness of the subtleties of nature. They direct their own learning by investigating curiosity and ultimately can experience a deep sense of place. These opportunities for growth provide a foundation for physical, emotional, and social intelligence that lasts a lifetime.

3. A child’s space in Woolly Bears is held once the $100 enrollment fee has been received via our online registration system.
Chickadees is a one (maybe 2) day/week drop-off enrichment program for children to spend more time in nature. This is a great choice for families who perhaps already have their children enrolled in a preschool setting. While there is a set and strong rhythm of the day, there are opportunities for new and different themes of play from week to week.
