Manza (Panda) has been working in outdoor education since 2018, prancing around oak woodlands, admiring wild flowers, and tending to edible plants. They began education with teens on an educational farm in Washington state, before wondering through Quail Springs Permaculture, Santa Barbara School District garden education, and finally WYP.
Manza grew up in chumash territory, now called Ventura County, with a deep curiosity and reverence for these lands. Their family stems from Brazil and long roots to California.
They believe that working with land is necessary healing for community building and the reciprocal relationship to earth. They are passionate about storytelling, music making, cold dunking, creative writing, theater, reading about liberation, and cooking elaborate meals with as many veggies as possible.
They are so grateful to work alongside Youth and land in Santa Barbara.
Manza (Panda) trabaja en educación al aire libre desde 2018, paseando por bosques de robles, admirando flores silvestres y cuidando plantas comestibles. Comenzó su educación con adolescentes en una granja educativa en el estado de Washington, antes de explorar Quail Springs Permaculture, la educación en huertos del Distrito Escolar de Santa Bárbara y, finalmente, WYP.
Manza creció en el territorio chumash, ahora llamado Condado de Ventura, con una profunda curiosidad y reverencia por estas tierras. Su familia proviene de Brasil y tiene largas raíces en California.
Creen que trabajar con la tierra es una sanación necesaria para la construcción de comunidad y la relación recíproca con la tierra. Les apasiona contar historias, crear música, remojar en frío, la escritura creativa, el teatro, leer sobre la liberación y cocinar comidas elaboradas con tantas verduras como sea posible.
Están muy agradecidos de trabajar junto a los jóvenes y la tierra en Santa Bárbara.
