Nadia grew up in the woods and hills of Western Massachusetts — the unceded homelands of the Mohican Nation. Raised in a tightly knit family of educators, environmentalists and folk musicians, she was drawn to the theatre at a young age, putting on plays with her siblings and cousins. Nadia studied linguistics and American studies at New York University while still writing and directing plays. A filmmaker and mother, she is currently completing her Waldorf teachers training and exploring, playing and singing with young children in Ojai and Carpinteria. Nadia is thrilled to be joining Wilderness Youth Project as a mentor, having witnessed the deep connection, reverence and joy the community and the land have instilled in her son. Every morning on the bluffs, she goes to her secret perch above the Pacific, and, accompanied by the barks of a harbor seal or the whistle of the Surfliner, she greets and gives thanks to le Soleil, la Mer, l’Air et la Terre — the Sun, the Ocean, the Air and the Earth.
Nadia creció en los bosques y colinas del oeste de Massachusetts - las natales no cedidas de la Nación Mohicana. Criada en una familia muy unida de educadores, ambientalistas y músicos, se sintió atraída por el teatro cuando era joven, presentando obras de teatro con sus hermanos y primos. Nadia estudió lingüística y estudios Americanos en la Universidad de Nueva York mientras aún escribía y dirigía teatro. Una cineasta y madre, actualmente está completando su Waldorf formación pedagógica explorando, jugando y cantando con niños pequeños en Ojai y Carpintería. Nadia está encantada de unirse al Proyecto Juvenil Wilderness como mentor, después de haber sido testigo de la profunda conexión, reverencia y alegría que la comunidad y la tierra han inculcado en su hijo. Cada mañana en los acantilados, ella va a su perca secreta sobre el Pacífico y, acompañada de los ladridos de un sello de puerto o el silbato del Surfliner, saluda y da gracias al Sol, el Mar, el Aire y la Tierra.
