Sofia Smith Hale

I come to WYP from many years of being an apprentice to nature, learning continually from her wisdom, generosity, and resilience. I have been shaped by many plants, mountains, and bodies of water in my life, and am grateful to be able to learn from the Chumash lands where I currently live as a steward and guest. I am here to accompany young people as they are nurtured and taught by the natural world, and to contribute to our collective healing from the legacies of colonization. I am here to play, to be filled with awe and reverence, and to move towards restoring relationships of reciprocity with each other and the Earth.

Vengo a WYP después de muchos años de ser una aprendiz de la naturaleza, aprendiendo continuamente de su sabiduría, generosidad y resiliencia. He sido formada por muchas plantas, montañas y cuerpos de agua en mi vida, y estoy agradecida de poder aprender de las tierras Chumash donde vivo actualmente como servidor. Estoy aquí para acompañar a los jóvenes mientras son nutridos y enseñados por el mundo natural, y para contribuir a nuestra sanación colectiva a partir de los legados de la colonización.
