Full Moon Paddle Outs

Join us for a beautiful moonlit kayaking tour out in the Santa Barbara Harbor. Participants have the chance to explore the ocean together and feel a greater connection to our Mother Earth.

All paddle outs will meet at the Paddle Sports Center in the Santa Barbara Harbor. There will be no use of the locker room, so make sure you come ready to paddle as you are. All Equipment (besides headlamps) will be provided by Paddle Sports.

Teen Night @ Full Moon Paddle Out

Thursday, September 28  |  7-9pm 

This night is open to high school age teens (grades 9-12) by invitation only from Wilderness Youth Project, REACH, PAL, and Pacific Pride. This is a special time to connect with WYP mentors and other teens and is offered at no cost to participants. Spaces are limited.

How to register for teen night

1. Create or log in to your WYP registration account

2. Make sure teens are listed in your account

    • Click on Households & Contact to view all family members
    • To add new members click on Add Participant and fill out the information

3. Go to Register to view all available sessions WYP offers

4. Use the Show Programs dropbox to select individual family members

5. Scroll down until you see Paddle Out - Community Events. Click on Choose your Sessions and select the ticket. (Note: If you are an adult joining us from one of the partner organizations, please register for the Volunteer-Adult 2023 Fall Semester.)

6. Verify that you have the correct event ticket in your cart and click Continue.

8. Review the family members on the following page Review & Apply

9. Read and sign the appropriate waivers and then click on Apply. 

10. You will receive an email by to confirm if your teen has received a spot.

Frequently Asked Questions

A paddle out involves a group going out to sea together as a symbolic and reflective activity– in memory or celebration as a community. For our events we will be using kayaks.

Wilderness Youth Project offers community paddle outs as an offering of gratitude and connection to community groups, like teens or BIPOC mentors. 

We believe that affinity spaces are a rare opportunity to hold sacred space. We have experienced, firsthand, the kind of healing, connection, and freedom that is possible when we do so.
